Every year there’s a specific moment when I realize that spring has arrived in Venice. It doesn’t happen all at once: it happens gradually. The light changes, becoming warmer and softer; the air grows milder, and a light breeze sweeps through the calli and canals. It’s as if the city were breathing differently. And so it feels natural to go out, to walk, and to let myself be guided without haste through bridges, calli, and campi.
Spring here has something special about it. Venice welcomes a new light that reflects off the water and makes every corner feel familiar yet surprising at the same time. It doesn’t take much to notice it: a campo filling up with people again, outdoor tables, windows wide open onto the canals. It’s a season that invites you to move slowly, to lose yourself in the streets without a specific destination, letting the city itself suggest the way.
Many say that spring is the best season to visit Venice. Perhaps because the weather is perfect for walking, perhaps because the city isn’t yet in the midst of the tourist rush, or perhaps simply because everything seems brighter. It’s also the time of year when Easter arrives: churches are filled with light, pastry shops display traditional sweets, and the city comes alive with a cozy yet joyful atmosphere.
Going out and exploring Venice in the spring feels like discovering the city all over again. The colours of the water, the ever-changing sky, and the little details that often go unnoticed when you’re in a hurry. To anyone who asks, I always say to come to Venice during this time of year to be surprised by how spring transforms this city, inviting you to walk, observe, breathe, and marvel. As I said, many claim this is the best season to visit, but the truth is that the only way to truly discover it is to experience it. Starting your day right here in Suite735.
